Day Two

I am feeling much better today. The area of the port incision still is quite sore, but the others are feeling much better. I also slept better last night than the night before. Full liquids are much better than the clear ones. They actually feel like I am eating something. I am sure at this point I will be able to go back to work after the weekend. My left shoulder is sore, and I am not sure what that is from.

I do have to say that the recovery from this surgery is a lot like my tubal. Definately not nearly as bad as my gall bladder. I haven't been too terribly hungry, but these belches and hiccups hurt!

I started feeling much better by day 3. Just rest & hang in there!

Your left shoulder is probably sore from the CO2 (gas) that they used to inflate your stomach. The gas inches its way up your body, into your back and shoulders and neck, where it "seeps out." It makes you feel sore as hell. It subsides after a few hours/days (depending on the person).

Glad you're on the road to recovery! I jumped from 60% better to 95% better by Day 3 as well. Yeah, the pain is definitely from the gas, as Christine mentioned, and if it gets intolerable (like mine did) try walking up stairs! Walking in general is what is recommended but I found the stairs helped the most. The shoulder pain was the worst part of recovery for me, hands down!

Gas, like everyone has said. I haven't had the surgery yet, but my BFF who had it had the same problem. She didn't know it was gas and thought that her band has somehow slipped. Glad you are on the mend.

Yep - agree - gas & it's the worst part! I felt like my stomach was blown up like a balloon.

Walking helps.

Hang in there - gets better everyday.

I had a pretty good recovery, I was really tired though. Make sure you keep moving to help those gas pains. Sometimes it helps to have a pillow nearby that you can use to brace your stomach if you feel one coming on. I've seen gas x get mixed reviews.
