TGIF!

I have again made it to the weekend with this pre-op diet.  It is getting easier and more tolerable.  I haven't even thought about looking at the vending machine at work!  Today however, we have a staff meeting in which our bosses will be buying in lunch.  I wasn't sure how I was going to handle that situation, so I took the afternoon off, so that I could say I had to leave before the eats.  It's my birthday and we are heading out of town, so I guess it all works out then.

On the homefront, we are preparing for our trip this weekend.  I have all my protein shakes packed and ready to go.  I just can't seem to believe that my surgery will be next week.

I have been working really hard to get all of my work ahead before I leave for a couple of days.  I have only taken off for Wed (surgery day), Thurs, and Fri.  I am planning on going back on Monday if I feel like it.  If not I will call in sick I guess.  My work is pretty flexible about that.  I do however need to work on Tuesday.  I have a couple of kids in Court, and my co worker can't seem to handle the workload if I am not there.  I am not too concerned though if I am not back, and if I don't feel like it I won't be.  I handled 10 kids in Court one afternoon when she was out for gall bladder surgery (for 3 weeks!) without any problems a couple of weeks ago.  Guess that just makes me different!

For my banding surgery I did the same thing as you: Surgery on Wednesday, then took Thursday and Friday off from work. I went back on Monday. For that next week I was careful to wear pants with an elastic waistband (sweatpants even...my employer understood) or a big baggy dress. Monday was a little uncomfortable but so long as I paced myself it was bearable. I hope you enjoy your birthday weekend! That's awesome that you're getting surgery so close to your birthday; it will be an easy date to remember and will make celebrating miletones that much more fun!
Cheers!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HEATHER!! I hope you enjoy your weekend.

You are packing your protein shakes for the weekend. That is cool. I have a trip to Nashville for my son's college orientation coming up so I guess I needed to read this.

Happy birthday! Are you turning 36? I ask because that is how old I am and also the age when I was banded. What a great way to start a new year! Have a great trip.

I was banded on a Friday and back to work the following Tuesday. I know not everyone feels the same way, but for me the surgery & recovery were pretty easy.

Happy Birthday Heather! I hope you have a great one. This week will fly by I'm sure. I'm not one to ask about going back to work because I didn't bounce right back, but a lot of people do go back pretty soon.
Have a good weekend!

Happy Birthday Heather...hope you have an awesome weekend.
As for the recovery, play it by ear...I have an office job and can't say I can imagine taking off any less time than the one week I took...surgery Monday and back to work the next Monday...first couple days back were rough.
Good Luck
