When is enough enough?

I think that I have written about this before, but it has been weighing on me a lot lately.  No pun intended.  When is it time to be done?  I have been dealing with people at work stating that I am getting too thin.  That sentiment has spilled over to the Courthouse today.  I had mention from the Court reporters and a couple of ladies at the Clerk's office.  Thing is I have 13 lbs to go to ultimate goal.  I am still overweight for 2 more lbs.  I am getting a little worried as I am now in a size 6 and 13 more lbs would definitely put me in a size 4.  How accessible is a  size 4 to purchase?  I don't want to be in the same predicament that I was in as a large woman with not being able to find clothing that would fit.  I am in size small pajamas.  Will I have to go to the kids section?  Remember the Dora Panty post?  This all being said, my stomach is still fat.  I still have a good size roll that I can grab on to.  My thighs look like a butt.  I can't afford plastics.  If I lose the 13 lbs, will it come off my stomach or maybe my butt thighs?  I guess I am a little confused about where this journey ends.  I don't know if I could stop losing at this point if I decided not to, but it takes some thought.  Here are some progress pics.  9 months - 69 lbs down

Ok I totally look special ed in this photo, but it shows my stomach without showing too much other stuff...

I'm so impressed with your weight loss. You had about the same amount of weight to lose as I did and you are doing it. My total that I want to lose is around 70lbs. I'm at around 52 with 18 to go. I'm a size 6 pants and a med/large top right now. I also wonder where the 18lbs will come off from! I suppose a little bit of everywhere. Are you also exercising? I think that helps tighten and tone the thighs and stomach quite a bit. I just started exercising again and hope it helps with this final weight loss.

Congrats on your success! Do what feels right for YOU and no one else.

Wow! You look so fantastic! When to stop? I say you stop when YOU want to stop. No one else can tell you what is right for you. :)

Seriously you look so perfectly normal and average! And I say that meaning it in the best sense of the words. If I met you on the street I would call you skinny. I would never know that weight had ever been a problem for you. So from an outsiders point of view I think you are just right...but the real question is when will you feel "right". That's the toughest question to answer. Great soul searching post, and a very healthy way of working it out.

wowser, you look fantastic! I mean fan-flippin-tastic lady! When you feel like you have lost enough and you are comfortable is when it will be enough!

You look awesome.

It's up to you when you are ready to stop, no one else, at least as long as you are still in the normal weight range. You are not emaciated-- you're normal, and you'll still be normal 13 lbs from now.

I see size 4 all of the time, so I wouldn't worry about that. I can't speak to the panty issue though :)

Skinny. You are totally normal now, screw the BMI chart - unless YOU want to lose more. You look great!

I love it! This motivated me to go back read your early posts. So great to see where we came from. The comment about shopping in the childrens department made me think of the problems I hope to face. Te hehe..imagine that! You are so inspiring - stop when you are ready. Don't let the scale tell you when it's time.

I agree, stop when you are ready.. but that's the issue - it's so confusing to understand and acknowledge when you are actually ready...
I worked with a lady and she was anorexic skinny, a skeletan with skin EXCEPT for her middle area... it was the only curvy bit on her. I thought that she looked unhealthily thin (sick thin), but she was determined to keep losing weight until her belly looked 'normal'.
Good luck finding your happy place, and you do look wonderful at the moment, such a difference to where you started - congrats on your hard work :-)

You are my inspiration!! Wow - you look terrific!! What an amazing success story!

And I agree, you're done when you decide you're done!

You look fantastic! Congratulations! I've seen the same with others who have lost a significant amount of weight - for some reason people think you're getting too thin long before that's the reality... I just think they struggle to process how different you look. Trust your own judgement - you will know when you're there.

First...JEALOUS!!!
Second...you look amazing! I agree with the others--you're "done" when YOU feel comfortable.

You look great, I say what feels right for you is what's important. The very first time I did WW and lost a bunch of weight, I was at 170 and I looked great and felt great and they told me I needed to lose 20 more pounds, I just quit and of course gained it all back plus!

You look so great! Only you know where you'll be comfortable in your weight. Don't wory about people saying you're getting too thin. Most Americans have a completely distorted view of what a healthy weight looks like. Also, I have friends who are size 4 and they have no issues finding clothes and everything looks so darn cute on them!

You look great! Don't stop until you feel like you're done! The important part is you're comfortable with your body, don't do it (or not) for anyone else. :)

Those "rolls" are your stomach are loose skin and I'm afraid nothing but plastic surgery is going to take those away.

My thought on stopping is that you should keep doing what you;re doing until you stop losing weight. Then you can decide if you want to exercise more or decrease your calories more to continue losing or if you want to declare yourself "done".

I think you look great! I can't even imagine a size 6, let alone a 4!

Girl you look AMAZING!!! I would KILL to be in a size 6 (well not really kill, but you know) and you have done so well!

Your weight loss is great, could you do a little "what I eat every day" post. I am always curious to those rockin the band about how it is working for them. And how big is your band and how full are you? Thanks so much!!!

You look fab..you really do!! I know everyone has already said it, but you need to do what feels best for you..no one knows but you..on the size 4, while I don't think I will ever get there given my height, I have plenty of friends who are...there is a HUGE selection of 4s..even 2s and 0s...it is much better than plus size.

Heather - Thanks for stopping by my blog and for the nice comment. :) You have had an amazing journey so far. As for when to stop...I haven't had that problem yet, but I concur with the "when you feel like you're done".

I've heard people say they just knew they were at goal. I've also heard others say they knew when they began maintaining and/or found they had to cut back dramatically in the food to lose more.

You look healthy and energetic, not too thin from what I can see. I do think people say that when they've only been used to the heavier you. It takes time to get used to a newer, thinner person.

Good luck and keep up the good work!

You look fab!!! I think you should stop where you feel comfortable. If you want to give it a try, do, but if you start feeling you're getting too thin, you can stop where you are and start the maintainence phase.

Good luck and keep up the great work!

P.S. I love Manhattan, too!
